The Changdong Art Village, a place

This is an international-standard shooting range established on a 10ha land surrounded by nature. It consists of a clay target shooting range, powder gun shooting range, and air gun shooting range.

In 1999, a part of the Changwon International Shooting Range was opened to the general public, and it has since become a dynamic leisure center that people seek out when they are in need of an energy boost.

Jinhae Environment Eco-Park(Inland Water Eco-Park)

Jinhae Environment Eco-Park

Reservoir with Cherry blossom leaves are scattering on the water. Jinhae Environment Eco-Park is a place not to miss when talking about the cherry blossom viewing spots in Changwon.

The Eco-Park, which was established in 2008, was reborn as an experience eco-park with a promenade and an experience-learning center before the Jinhae Cherry blossom festival in 2009. The Eco-Park is chosen by photographers as a beautiful photographing spot in Korea during the cherry blossom tree season. In addition to cherry blossoms, there are more than 4,000 species of wetland plants and trees including the Russian iris and hosta plants, and thus autumn leaves as colorful as cherry blossom trees may be seen in autumn.

After a tour of the Eco-Park,

there is also a Freshwater Fish Ecology Learning Center at the Inland Aquaculture Research Institute, which displays freshwater fish like stone moroko and sturgeon.

The Jinhae Marine Park

The Jinhae Marine Park is an experiential learning center where people can delve into Eastern and Western history and culture, and better understand the importance of having marine power.

The world naval battle history can be explored at the Naval Battle History Experience Hall, while the Warship Exhibition Hall gives a glimpse into what it is like to live as a naval officer. mjigyo Bridge present a spectacular sight for the visitors as well. The exhibition and experience halls at the Marine Organism Theme Park presents information on the origins and evolutionary processes of marine organisms and specimens of diverse fish, shellfish and more for a closer look at the marine ecosystem. The fantastic landscape lighting and fountain as well as the 250m-long Eumjigyo Bridge present a spectacular sight for the visitors as well.

From the 99 Tower in Jinhae Ocean Park to Sokuri Island,

ZipTrack' provides the thrill and freedom with beautiful sights of Jinhae Ocean Park through 1399 meters mid-air trip at 80 km/h. After the ZipTrack experience, there is a jet boat available on the way back from the Sokuri island.

Also, in the 99 Tower,

there is an Edge Walk, which is an experience of walking 62 meters around the outer wall of the 99 Tower at 75 meter height, depending on a safety rope connected to a rail. Unlike the other skywalks in Korea, no hand rail is installed for maximize thrilling experience.

Marine Solar Tower

The Marine Solar Tower erected on top of the Jinhae Marine Park is equipped with Korea’s largest capacity (600kW) and tallest solar power generation system for a single building.

As one of the landmarks of Changwon,

the Marine Solar Tower is reminiscent of a sail, and there are more than 2,000 solar power modules attached thereto. Near the 120m point in height, there is a circular observatory symbolizing the sun, and it offers a near-panoramic view of the New Port of Busan, Geogadaegyo Bridge, and Jinghaeman Bay.

• It is renowned for housing the Tripitaka Koreana, a vast series of wooden blocks on which Buddha’s teachings were initially carved in the 11th century and again in the 13th century following their destruction. The temple is enclosed by Gayasan Mountain to the rear and Maehwasan at the front. The majestic scenic view created by the forest of pines and mountain temples is sure to mesmerize visitors.
• There are several cultural heritages in Haeinsa, the most famous of which are the Tripitaka Koreana (National Treasure No. 32), the Depositories for the Tripitaka Koreana Woodblocks (National Treasure No. 52), Banyasawongyeong Wangsabi ((royal monk monument, Treasure No. 128), the Chiinni Standing Rock-carved Buddha (Treasure No. 222), the Multi-Storied Stone Pagoda in Wondangam Hermitage, and a Stone Lantern (Treasure No. 518).

• It is called ‘Jirisan’ because people believed that, if foolish people stayed in Jirisan, they would become wise people. It is also called ‘Duryusan’ because the Baekdusan mountain range continued all the way southward to connect with Jirisan. It is also called ‘Bangjangsan’ because an enlightened monk named Bangjang once stayed in Jirisan. Jirisan has ten peaks including Cheonwangbong (1,915.4m), South Korea’s second highest peak, Jeseokbong (1,806m), Banyabong (1,732m), and Nogodan (1,507m). The ridge running between Cheonwangbong and Nogodan is about 25.5㎞ long, and the circumference of Jirisan is 320㎞.
• Jirisan, which rises from Cheonwangbong, consists of several valleys including Chilseon, Baemsagol, and Daewonsa, as well as Buril, Guryong, and Yongchu Falls. The valleys and falls together create an amazing scenic view. On and around Jirisan, several important cultural heritages are located in such temples as Hwaeomsa, Ssangyesa, Yeongoksa, Daewonsa, and Silsangsa, attesting to Jirisan’s significance as the birthplace of Korean Buddhism.

• You will be fascinated by just standing there where is the tunnel of cherry blossoms which is the best place of April. Yeojwacheon is the place of 1.5km tunnel of cherry blossoms and rape flowers where you can enjoy walking along the Deck road and has exterior lighting systems for you to savour cherry blossoms at night.
• Nov. last year, the city finished total 680m of the deck road which wasn't connected from the old deck road between Jinhae Electricity and Yeojwao-dong community center, between Yeojao tunnel and Jinhae Girls' highschool.

• Owing to significance of Baekdudaegan and the steep mountainous area around it, Hamyang-gun has been protected from indiscriminate development, enabling it to preserve its pristine valleys and natural beauty. It is now attracting a great deal of attention as a beautiful new tourist spot.
• The ‘daraknon’ or terraced fields in Macheon Region have been built there since ancient times as there is insufficient farmland in the region due to the steepness of the terrain around Jirisan. The villagers of Macheon have continued building up stone walls to create terraces for farming purposes for thousands of years.

• “Hwang” means prosperity and “Mae” means preciousness or dignity, so put together “Hwangmae” means abundance. In the past, if anyone prayed here with ultimate sincerity and devotion, people believed that their wishes would come true. Many people have come to this mountain since ancient times to pray.
• The appearance of Hwangmaesan changes each season. Azaleas and royal azaleas paint the mountain pink in spring, while the water flowing in the valleys creates an abundant scenic view in summer. Silver grass produces white blossoms in autumn, creating a dazzling scenic view as if lit by a multitude of candles; and beautiful snowy scenery is typical in winter. The Hwangmaesan Azalea Festival is held every May to wish for prosperity and abundance for the town’s inhabitants and to promote the excellence of azaleas nationwide. Various events are staged including a hiking contest, a singing contest, and a nature-cleaning movement.

• Chokseongnu was repeatedly built, destroyed and then rebuilt throughout Korea’s turbulent history. Since its construction in the 28th year of King Gojong’s reign (1241) during the Goryeo Dynasty, it has been built and destroyed a total of nine times.
• This charming structure has a wealth of tales to tell from its 770-year history.
